Gerbert Sans

Font Design
Class: Font Design 1
Instructor: Gregory Lindy

Gerbert Sans is my contribution to the world of grotesque font design.  The solutions I arrived to are unique to my challenges when working with similar typefaces. By pronouncing the joints and emphasizing the character proportions,  they function well at smaller sizes without needing adjustment to the spacing of the characters. The design direction of the type specimen poster borrows from urban slang. Given that this style of type has become synonymous with the city, I felt like the language of the poster should reflect that also.
